Ellisiff of the Endless Hills from the Barony of Endless Hills

Mundane SCA bio:

I joined the SCA in 2004 under Clan Ice Pheonix. The first Barony event I attended was Melee Maddness in the Meadow, in that year. I didn't get to much that first year SCA wise. I attended fight practices and hung out, just getting know everyone. In 2005, I attended Baronial Birthday 7, and I worked the kitchen for the entire event and then helped to break down. By that time I was hooked. I marched in the St. Patrick's Day parade helping to carry the Baronial banner through the incredibly windy streets. My next event was Kingdom War Practice, which was just a fun thing for me. After that, came Melee Maddness in the Meadows, where I was assistant to the autocrat, Lord Eirik and head cook, Mistress Euriol. By this time, I considered myself to be fully part of the SCA. I changed my style of knitting from modern to knitting in the round and began to think more seriously about what my place would be in my local group. Soon after I entered House Odlahorde, headed by Lord Eirik and Mistress Euriol. I atteneded Bards, Jugglers, and Tumblers, and then Pennsic. At Pennsic I assisted the landocrat in land grab and camp set up. And then the 12 hour break down of camp three weekends later. During Pennsic, I didn't get to do too much but watch fighting and shop. Myself and Lord Eirik had brought three kids to Pennsic that year, none of the age to be left alone. But I did hold a guard post in front of the Aethelmearc encampment and helped our Barony annex the Barony of the Debatable Lands, there by making us the Over Overbearing Barony. Back home, I attended the Old Mill demo, where I helped keep track of the large small person population and their games. Then came Fasching, where I was again assistant to the autocrats, Taranach and Lord Eirik.

Shortly after Fasching, I was elected by the Barony to be the local Chatelaine. I set to work updating our very old media and beginning projects, like the Baronial Scrapbook. I handed the Baronial Scrapbook project over to Dawn De La Lune, one of my Deputies. She took the idea and ran with it, and eventually was named Baronial Historian for her efforts (at Baronial Birthday 8). I kept up the newcomer's meetings (and once again made them garb optional and rotating throughout our area), created a website for the office of Chatelaine, and prepared the office to hold information/Chatelaine booths at all our local events. Baronial Birthday was the Chatelaine's debut back into an active office in the Barony of Endless Hills. At that event, I hosted a hospitality and information booth all day long. We had a record number of newcomer's that day to one event!

That's my SCA life so far..

Next up is the St. Patrick's Day parade, maybe Kingdom War Practice, Melee Madness in the Meadows, demos, demos, demos...and of course, the office always something up it's sleeve!!! So stay tuned!}
